Happy early Halloween!

Happy early Halloween! I took these pictures of Sara Kate Friday morning and it was very windy here. You can see a little of her hair blowing, well, what little hair she has was blowing! :) Eric bought her that halloween sweater last year when she was only a few weeks old. It was hard for us to imagine that one day she would be big enough to fit into it. Can't believe our little baby can wear it now!

Fun Weekend

Playing with a new neighborhood friend

Pulling the strings to get candy!

We went to our neighbor's birthday party this weekend. The little boy, Aiden, turned 3 and Sara Kate had a great time. I met a few more moms from our neighborhood that I didn't know so it was great to meet some new people. Most of them have husbands who are residents in the airforce too. I've included some pics. from the party. Eric had the weekend off so it was great having him home. After church today we went and ate at Cracker Barrel and we both felt like we were back home in Georgia. We are looking forward to seeing family and friends soon! :)

Hey everyone! We survived Sara Kate's first birthday party. There were about 12 kids including Sara Kate and 15 adults so we had a great crowd. It was so fun seeing all the kids dressed up. Sara Kate kept her princess crown on for about the first 20 minutes of the party and then she threw it off never to be worn again through the party! Oh well! The kids enjoyed playing outside and Sara Kate loved sitting in the ball pit with her friend Zoe. I was glad the kids had a good time, it's so hard planning for different age groups. Everyone snacked, played outside, and had cake. Sara Kate liked everyone singing to her, she loves attention! I think she gets that from Eric! She screamed though when we tried to put her in her high chair for her cake so we didn't get to do that with everyone here. My friend from bible study made SK's cake and it was so pretty and tasted good too. My neighbor also came over Friday and decorated the dining room and kitchen for us. I was so thankful b/c I don't know what I would've done without her help! Eric was dreading having to do it so bad so he was thrilled when he got home from work Friday and most of it was decorated. He did put up the streamers and balloons in the living room and he was so proud of himself! I've included a few pictures from her party but most of them will be on our website. We took almost 150 pictures so I'll try to get most of them up today or tomorrow! The party was so much fun but we wish our family and friends could've been here too! Enjoy all the pictures!

Pumpkin Patch

Carolina, Sara Kate, and Zoe

Today we went to the pumpkin patch with our play group. It was at a church near our house so we were actually on time for once! Sara Kate loved looking at the pumpkins. It was so hot though that we couldn't really enjoy it. The sun was beating right down on us. She didn't really want to smile at the camera, unusual for her b/c she loves the camera! I had to give her my keys to play with to make her happy! She has a cute halloween shirt that I was going to put on her but it was too hot for it! It's been 92 today. I thought that the orange bow would do! I put some pictures up of Sara Kate and her friends Carolina and Zoe. I really like their moms. Carolina is from Mexico and Zoe is from Argentina. You should imagine how hard it is sometimes for us to understand each other. They both speak english very well but I think it's harder to understand my southern accent!

We're getting ready for her birthday party on Sat. so I'll put tons of pictures up. Hopefully we'll have some nice cool weather. A cold front is supposed to come through tonight so we'll see!

Happy Birthday Sara Kate!

Eating my yummy cupcake!

Giving Mommy a kiss!

Happy Birthday to me!

Wow, has a year already gone by? Sara Kate turned one and I survived my first year of being a Mom! It has been a wonderful year and I feel truly blessed to have such a sweet little girl. We had a really good day today. It started off with Sara Kate waking up at 6:45 this morning, she usually sleeps until 7:30. Eric just missed seeing her awake. She got up, ate a good breakfast, got food all over herself, had a bath (she loves a bath!) and then took a long nap. I tried to get a lot done during this time b/c when she's awake, I get NOTHING done! So, after she got up from her nap we went and bought her some spiffy new shoes, thanks Nana & Papa! They squeak everytime she walks and she loves hearing it. Maybe these will make her walk sooner. After getting new shoes, we went and ate at Chick-Fil-A. I really enjoyed having lunch, just the two of us. Sara Kate was so cute and loved watching all the people in there. Our last stop was Target, her favorite store. She loves Target! She'll just look around and babble through the whole store!

We got home and Sara Kate loved getting all the birthday wishes. Thanks for all the calls and emails! We really wish that we could be home with you all but it will just make it even more sweeter when we can spend birthdays together in the future! I made cupcakes for her today. She loved eating the cake and I guess the sugar made her stay up until almost 9:30. She normally goes to bed at 8:30! Oh well, you only turn one once! :)

Guess who likes to brush her teeth?

Sara Kate "brushing" her teeth
At home after running in the rain!
Smiling really big after "brushing" her teeth
Today we went to bible study and got drenched leaving the church. I had to run, very carefully Nana and Papa!, in the rain to get to our car. Sara Kate was so good and just stuck her tongue out! We both looked like drowned rats by the time we got to the car. I definitely do not like to drive in the rain but God got us home safely. It barely rains in San Antonio so I'm not complaining! We needed it so badly. I think our grass is smiling outside!

Attached is a picture of Sara Kate after running in the rain. Also, I attached a picture of her "brushing" her teeth before bed. She just loves to chew on it!

Great Weekend

Giving baby a kiss!
Sara Kate is "talking" to Nana!

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated our blog! Eric had this past weekend off and we had a great time. Saturday we had our new neighbors, Erik & Leah, over for supper. They just moved here from Charleston (Lauren, I thought that was neat!). Erik is also a resident in the military. They are pregnant with a little girl so I loved showing Leah Sara Kate's bedroom and telling her how much fun she'll have with a little one. Speaking of Sara Kate, I can't believe she's about to be a year old!! Time has flown by so fast. She is so much fun and loves giving kisses now. I've attached a picture of her giving her baby doll a big wet one. She just opens up her mouth so big! She also loves to "talk" on the telephone. Attached is also a picture of her on the phone with Nana. Everytime I would try to take it away from her she would turn with her back to me. She'll just babble on and on!

We're still working on planning her birthday party. We did a lot of running around this weekend getting stuff. I still can't believe she's almost 1! This time last year we were getting ready for her and our Mom's were coming out to help us. Eric and I love to talk about it. God was so faithful and took care of us and Sara Kate. We are just so thankful for her! Hope you enjoy the pictures and I'll try to do better about blogging more often! :)
